We specialize in enhancing the quality of life for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through personalized, flexible support services. Our tailored offerings range from in-home and community-based assistance to systematic skill-building and job support, all designed to foster independence, social integration and personal achievement. We recognize the unique needs of each individual and provide the necessary tools and opportunities to help them thrive in their communities, maintain dignity and realize their goals.

Our Support Services

Home & Community Support (IHCS/CS)

In-home and community-based services help clients develop and maintain skills for meaningful, independent lives. These services focus on improving personal independence and community participation in a way that is significant to each client. A person-centered approach from referral to service delivery supports each client's physical, cognitive, psychological and emotional well-being. Services include daily living activities - such as personal hygiene, meal planning, and budgeting - as well as wellness programs, social circle expansion and hobby promotion. Transportation is provided as needed to facilitate full participation in community activities.

Community Participation Support

Community Participation Support is intended to support a community life, secondary to employment, as a primary goal. Community Participation Support offers opportunities for people to integrate themselves into their communities, while also providing opportunities for goal-oriented activities. Community experiences allow people to navigate their community and explore volunteer and employment options.

Systematic Skill Building

Systematic Skill Building (SSB) is a service designed to support individuals in acquiring skills that promote their participation and independence in both their homes and in the greater community. SSB draws on techniques utilized in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. These techniques help clients to acquire and enhance their abilities related to communication, socialization, community participation, relevant vocations and independent living in order to improve overall quality of life.

Job Services

Job services are intended to support clients in obtaining and sustaining competitive integrated employment in an inclusive community setting. There are a variety of services available, including career/vocational assessment, job finding and/or development, job coaching/support and extended employment supports. These services are vital to the mission and vision of Independence Fitz You and are focused on ODP policies, principles and practices. Services are provided based on individual needs and interests and assist in the discovery and maintenance of employment opportunities that utilize and enhance a person’s strengths.

Behavior Services

Behavioral services provide support to individuals who may have disruptive or challenging behaviors. These behaviors can create obstacles and hinder opportunities for living safely at home and/or for active community involvement. With the help of our licensed behavioral specialist, clients use an individualized, comprehensive plan - supporting them, their families and their staff – so they are able to reduce difficult behaviors and gain independence with their communication, social and life skills.

In-Home Respite Services

Our respite services are provided for the supervision and support of individuals living in private homes on a short-term basis. This grants the individuals’ normal care provider(s) a period of vital relief, be it planned or for emergency situations. Independence Fitz You will give utmost attention to the continuation of the clients’ daily lives, allowing participation in their local communities and consistent implementation of Individual Support Plans, Behavior Support Plans and/or Crisis Intervention Plans as applicable.
